• Our winches are built for hauling and pulling, they are not recommended for lifting.
• Respect winches. High forces are created when using a winch. Never allow children to operate a winch.
• Maintain a firm grip on the winch handle at all times. Never release the handle when ratchet lever is in unlocked position with a load on the winch.  The handle may spin violently which could cause injury.
• Check you have the right winch for the job.  Never use if damaged.
• Never pull on the winch handle against a locked ratchet.
• Never exceed rated capacity.  Excess load may cause premature failure and could result in serious personal injury.
• Keep at least 3 turns of cable or rope on the reel.
• Secure your load properly.  Do not depend on winch to secure your load.
• If the winch cannot be cranked easily with one hand, it is probably overloaded or not set up correctly.
• Select a strap or cable at least 1¹/₂ times stronger than the winch rating.

Operating Instructions

1. Handle and nut must be tightened against drive shaft before operating winch.
2. Wind line on winch reel by turning winch handle in clockwise direction with ratchet lever up.
3. The ratchet should produce a loud sharp clicking noise.
4. Make sure that ratchet lever is in up position and holding load before winch handle is released.
5. To unwind or reel out line, securely grip winch handle and apply force clockwise so that ratchet lever can be moved to down position.
6. Carefully turn handle counter clockwise.  Do not lose control.
7. The winch can be converted to wind line on to the underside of the reel.

Winch Maintenance

• Occasional greasing of gears and reel shaft.
• Occasional drop of oil on drive shaft bearings.
